Storycology Project

Page history last edited by John Abbe 16 years, 7 months ago

A bunch of people (say, us) create multimedia, interwoven, ongoing waves of visionary stories that shift the cultural narrative of the US and the world toward a more positive future. These are not isolated stories, but together form a shared future history - a story ecology - just as all the animals and plants in a forest create an arborial ecology. The stories do not all harmonize perfectly. Our imagined future is big enough, just like reality, to include stories that seem to contradict each other!

Some of the stories may be set far ahead in this shared future history. But many more tell the story of how we get there from where we are today. And many are non-fiction - showing things going on today that are moving us toward that imagined future, or re-framing our history in a way that makes sense of it in the context of the shifts we see we are making to survive and thrive.
